The science of science: Why measuring research is necessary to improve the way it is funded
Year:
2013
Month:
June
Abstract:
This seminar examined the policy drivers for why governments throughout the world are interested in capturing, articulating and assessing the non-academic impacts of the research they fund, exploring the challenges in assessing research impact and understanding the benefits that can arise from such assessment. The seminar drew from a number of recent RAND Europe studies to illustrate these wider issues.
